Scout Association and GirlGuiding First Response Course
This is the current course approved by the Scout Association and GirlGuiding, and has a minimum teaching time of 6 hours.
The First Response Course is vital for any member of the movement with a role of responsibility within the association.
The course covers many areas of First Aid that you may have to deal with during an association activity, whether this be at your group headquarters or in a remote location.
£140 per course fully inclusive for a maximum of 12 participants.
(It should be noted that your district may be able to supply this training to your leaders free of charge)
Sam (you might know him as Prickle) is an experienced Scouter and allows plenty of time in the course to answer questions and deal with the scenarios that arise when working with young people.
We can also offer the 2 hour refresher course for £55 for a maximum of 18 participants – though it should be noted this session is very much revision based.
“Really enjoyed the course, relaxed atmosphere, no questions too stupid and everything was answered – thank you” – B.S. – Cub Scout Leader – Sandridge
We completely understand that getting everyone together for a first aid training session can be tricky when everyone is volunteering their time. We can deliver trainings at your meeting place, District HQ or at another venue if necessary (if you are local to St Albans we can make recommendations as to suitable places).
We find that courses that are booked well in advance (giving everyone plenty of notice) are more successful. We’re happy to deliver this course to Scouters and Guiders at the same time.
